The Yamaha Moto 4 reaches a 45 mph top speed. It can efficiently function as a sporting utility quad. The bike is sturdy enough to pull fully loaded hay wagons at 30 mph. The vehicle responds fairly instantly to the throttle and gathers speed at a bearable but sluggish rate.
How fast do quad bikes goOne of the first things that I really enjoyed about riding quads is going on a straight line and feelingthe wind on my face. It was a heavenly feeling at the time and it is today. Needless to say, I reallyenjoyed long stretches of land so I could accelerate. And most quads at the time thankfully were prettyfast, so they satisfied that hunger that I had inside. Anyways, because top speed is not one of theprimary atributes of a quad and so those statistics are not that easily found, I started thinking: howfast does atvs usually go? I read the manual of the quadsport that i had at the time and then i talkedabout the matter with a few ATV riders the next time that i saw them. And the answer to that question is that most ATVs top speed is between 55-90 MPH.
We are talking about the average model. This can be between 200cc and 700cc. For models without a lot of displacement the top speed is about 50 MPH. For quads with bigger engines it’s about 80 to 90 MPH.
Now if you go to extremes obviously you are going to find bigger speeds. The Yamaha Banshee is a very powerful quad with top speeds over 100 MPH! And some mini-atvs made for kids are very underpowered, often not being able to go past 30MPH. So as you see, there is a lot of different ranges, but for your average quad it’s going to be about 70 MPH more or less. However getting to that speed is not exactly the easiest thing in the world!
You are going to need along, flat road a few miles long so that you can attempt to get to the top speed. Also, the inclinationis important too. It’s pretty obvious that the quad won’t have it’s best performance if you put it evenin a slight incline. Something that is also going to affect the engine performance is the altitude. Thehigher over the sea level, the less oxygen in the air, and that means a slower quad. But anyways, I gomore into detail about this subject below!
How fast do quad bikes go? Quad bikes have never been slouches when it comes to performance. ATV engine’s performance has increasedsteadily over the years, giving us the modern day monsters that we call quads. 10 to 20 years ago, quadsused to be a little bit slower than today. 45 MPH was considered a pretty fast top speed and most quadstopped at about 35 MPH. Technology wasn’t as advanced as today and that also influenced the performanceof the oldies.
Older ATVs used carburators and that affected the performance of the machines. Quads todayare generally faster and have more performance than older models. But for an average quad, top speed is going to be about 50-70 MPH. Like I explained in the first paragraph, this can be achieved on a long stretch of road without any imperfections and high octane gas. Some specialmodels can also be very fast, sometimes even resembling cars in their acceleration and top speed figures.the Polaris Slingshot is a very fast “quad” with a top speed over 130 MPH and killer performance. Anotherbeast is the Yamaha Banshee with a top speed of over 100 MPH!
These beasts are the exception though. Mostmodern quads won’t surpass 70 MPH.There are a few things that make a quad faster than others.
Some of there things are pretty obvious butsome are a bit less so. Things like bigger engines are rpetty obvious and widely done in the quad world, but there are a few other things that manufacturers do like adjusting the suspension setup and alsoinstalling a performance air filter. This is something that is mostly seen in performance or rare modelsbut this trend is trickling down the the standard fare. Fastest quad bikes available. Over the years there have been several crazy ATV releases and that makes the enthusiasts go crazy everyyear. These special quads are either modified versions of normal quad or completely new models. Thesebeasts are differentiated by 1 thing: speed!
They are super fast! Some of them can be even faster thana car.

Anyways, i love these special quads and so i decided to make a list of the most memorable, powerful, and fastest quads to ever exist in the world! The quad with the fastest top speed recorded is called the ALSR Rocket Raptop, which is a modified versionof a Yamaha Raptor tuned by an enthusiast. The most amazing thing about this quad is that the owner installeda rocket thruster on the back of the quad. The quad achieved a top speed of 315.74 km/h (196.19 mph)which currently holds the world record for the fastest quad! The Yamaha Banshee is another powerhouse with a top speed over 100 MPH! This 2-Stroke quad is famous forit’s powerful engine and while it is sadly no longer in production, this baby left a mark in quad ridersworldwide. On good conditions, this beauty has achieved top speeds of over 115 MPH.
One of yamaha’s last2-strokes, this was a very popular model among modders, who wanted to take the quads performance evenfuther. The Polaris Slingshot is one of the most exotic in this list. It’s also one of the most expensive! I honestlydon’t know if i should call this thing a “quad” but it says so in the polaris website and people call ita quad so i guess i will follow suit. The difference about this monster and the other quads of this listis that it has more stability over high speeds.
This can easily achieve over 100 MPH without breaking asweat. More of a luxury model, this is one of polaris most expensive models. How to make your quad faster? There are several ways to increase the performance of your quads.
Everything is going to depend on thebudget that you have and if you are willing to do the change. Thing that you can do include:1. Change your engine: the most obvious thing.
If you are willing to do the engine change, i recommend thatyou change the old engine that you have on your quad and install something compatible with your quad.other things that you can do is install an engine from a quad from a different weight class.
